Rugosa Shaving Soap
EA Shaving Soap is a vegan-base, double-lye, hot-process, hard format shaving soap. It lathers like a dream—think warm whipped cream scooped up with a straight razor. Loading the brush once gives enough lather for a three-pass shave. A truly remarkable product for DE and straight-razor aficionados.
Rugosa is a rugged floral, an homage to the hardy Beach Rose that thrives in poor soils and endures the harshest winters. Mulled with clove, Rugosa is a brawny scent that is heavy on the thorn.
And with our Bespoke Service, you can choose to substitute the scent with your favorite Eliza Alchemy fragrance.

Wet shaving with a mug, brush, and traditional shaving soap will transform your daily grooming into a pleasant ritual. Eliza Alchemy uses the finest ingredients and fragrances to make small-batch, hot-process shaving soap in the Old World tradition.
How to Wet Shave with Traditional Shaving Soap
1. Shave just after a shower, or apply a warm, damp cloth to your face to soften your beard.
2. Soak a quality shaving brush in hot water for several minutes, shake out the water, then load your brush by swirling it around on your soap.
3. Build the lather by swirling it around in your shaving mug or bowl to a thick whipped cream consistency. If needed, add a couple more drops of water—but not too much lest you thin the lather out. Or you can apply the loaded brush directly to your face and build the lather there. A properly loaded brush will give you a three-pass shave without needing to reload.
4. For your best shave, use a double- or single-edge safety razor, a traditional straight razor or shavette, or a modern cartridge razor. Rinse your face with warm water between passes. Make one pass with the grain of your whiskers and the second pass across or against the grain. As your technique improves you can make three passes if you wish—with, across, and against the grain. Finish by rinsing your face with cool water and patting dry. Apply toner or astringent, slap on your favorite aftershave or cologne and you’re good to go. A good shave will last most men three days, but you’ll probably have so much fun wet shaving that you’ll want to do it daily.
